102 hours and 13 minutes

Got a call this afternoon from the oncologist that my whole-body scan looked fine, and I’m good for another six months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Getting past these benchmarks is ridiculously easy in retrospect—meaning since Dr. Kenyon gave me his report. I wouldn’t wish on anyone the stress of being between scan and scan results—102 hours and 13 minutes, on this occasion. God continues to hold my cancer in abeyance, while other people I know are less fortunate. I don’t know why, but I do know I’m supposed to respond with love and charity for others living with cancer. This is a really tough road to travel.

Peter: You rarely fail to act with love and charity to others and I credit many influences with this wonderful aspect of your life. So glad to hear the news of your scan.
