Clinical trials? Thanks, but no thanks. So it’s on to surgery to remove a 1-cm nodule in my left thigh and a second operation to clean up the melanoma fragments that remain in my cheek after the punch biopsy. Next stop: OHSU on Thursday to match wits with the surgical oncologist who cut on me before. With luck, I should be all patched up within two or three weeks. Since I’m having plastic surgery, I was thinking about going for a new look. Peter Fonda, circa 1975, perhaps?

I'm liking the Peter Fonda look! You've already got the attitude ... "Looking for adventure, or whatever comes my way." Why not?

Your news is encouraging if not downright celebratory. I'm glad you've got such a solid treatment plan in place. It was cool to read your post about running with friends the other day. What a gift friends and family are.

So, your oncologist recommended that you participate in a clinical trial for these two spots? I'm curious to know the thinking on this.

I second the Peter Fonda look. Tell ya what: you grow the locks, I'll buy the Grecian Formula.

I'll be praying that the surguries go well.

What great news. I was hoping that if I waited to contact you things would turn out well. Talk with you soon.

It is January 22 and I hover around the computer waiting to hear how you are doing. I don't want to intrude but I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers join the many others who surround you with love.
