Cathedral of grace

I find strength and solace in desert places, including some rimrock above which I camped last week with my daughter, Allie, at Smith Rock (right). The earth is simple there; in this case, mostly rock, water and wind—a trinity of sorts. The rock is the foundation upon which all else rests (the Father), and water is alive and a source of life (the Son), and the wind blows its power through us (the Spirit). This cathedral of grace bears the signature of its creator, who remains at work in shaping those who worship within.
