Bald, bold and beautiful

Don’t worry, I haven’t power-buzzed my hair just yet. This mug shot is a poorly photoshopped version of the photo at top left. I’m just mentally preparing for what I’ve been told to expect in a few days when the radiation finishes off my hair follicles and I go bald.

I think I might like this transition. Men with shaved heads are perceived to be more masculine, dominant and, in some cases, to have greater leadership potential than those with longer locks or with thinning hair, according to a recent study out of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

I’m not sure where all this machismo is supposed to lead me, but it sounds intriguing.

"I'm not saying that shaving your head makes you successful, but it starts the conversation that you've done something active," said tech entrepreneur and writer Seth Godin in an article this week in the Wall Street Journal. "These are people who decide to own what they have, as opposed to trying to pretend to be something else."

I’ve looked at websites for hairpieces; they’re not for me. I think I’ll probably decide “to own what I have,” when the day comes. What do you think? Should I go the Bruce Willis route or not?
